Madame Janette is one of our favorite restaurants in Aruba. It is located in a residential area so it can be a little difficult to find even with an Aruba map. Taking a taxi service would be your best option. Reservations are a must during the high season (December - April) for this favorite Aruba restaurant.
There is a very casual, friendly atmosphere to this restaurant. It has a bar and a few lounge areas with cozy seating for romance. You’ll notice quiet little lights surround the area as you walk on the pebble floor to your table. There is live entertainment for your enjoyment, but never too loud to hinder conversation.
At Madame Janette’s you will see families, singles, couples, and groups of people. Many are repeat guests and others are there for their first “Madame Janette Experience”. If you are on your honeymoon in Aruba, I definitely suggest your Aruba dining plans include this unique property in Aruba.
You’ll find the staff to be friendly, and very helpful with any questions you may have about the menu. During the high season you may find the service to be slower than normal, but most of the time the service is very good.
We have been to Madame Janette’s in the low season, November, May, and June, and we have never needed to make a reservation. We usually eat a late dinner though, so if you eat early you may need to call ahead.
The cocktails they offer are
wonderful! They also have an extensive wine list. The food is always delicious
and flavorful. The portions are generous in size. Relax and enjoy, you never
feel rushed at this Aruba restaurant.
They offer soups, salads, appetizers, steak, lamb, pork, chicken, and seafood such as shrimp, lobster, salmon, sea bass, grouper, etc. We recently enjoyed the Almond Crusted Grouper and the Schnitzel Style Pork Tenderloin. Most of their entrees are yummy! Make sure you leave room for their heavenly desserts.
To sum up: The ambiance of Madame Janette’s unique friendly, relaxing atmosphere, good service, wine, and delicious food make this an Aruba dining experience to remember.

Barefoot is one of those restaurants in Aruba that have the perfect ambiance for romance. It is located directly on the beach to take advantage of those beautiful Aruba sunsets.
Although this Aruba restaurant is located near the Queen Beatrix International Airport, it does not interfere with the relaxing ambiance since most flights are during the day. Although, you will hear an occasional plane fly by in the evening which doesn’t seem to bother anyone.
This Aruba dining experience offers you a choice of seating either directly on the beach with your feet in the soft sand and the stars above, or at a table on the deck under the large palapa with a gorgeous ocean view. It also has a bar with limited seating.
I suggest making reservations for 6:30pm if you want to enjoy the sunset and not miss out on a great photo opportunity. The staff is very friendly and accommodating if you would like them to take your picture.
Barefoot has a cocktail menu as well as a lovely selection of wines to help you start your evening. Sit back and enjoy the ambiance, the company, the friendly staff, the wine, and the good food.
You have a choice of cold or hot appetizers, as well as, four unique salads to choose from. They also have soup such as Lobster Bisque, Tomato Soup and Dijon Mustard Soup.
The main entrees consist of an assortment of fish such as Blackened Mahi Mahi, Grouper Romana, Tuna Pepper Steak, Snapper, and a delicious Shellfish Trio dish consisting of shrimp, lobster and scallops. They also serve steak, lamb, pork, and chicken dishes. The Sautéed Beef Tips with mushrooms and onions in a red wine sauce is also very good.
If you do not eat fish or meat, Barefoot also offers two delicious vegetarian selections, vegetarian quiche and zucchini parmigiana.
If you still have room for dessert, you are in for a treat. Try to choose between fresh fruit with sherbet, tiramisu made with banana, apple strudel with ice cream, chocolate mousse, crème brulee, or fabulous amaretto peach cheese cake!
To sum up: This is one of those restaurants that screams romance due to the location that enables you to view beautiful Aruba sunsets while relaxing and dining on good food, with good service, and friendly people.

Café Baci is our very favorite Italian restaurant in Aruba. Since it is located on Palm Beach in The Westin Resort on the lobby level, it is very easy to find. It is an indoor restaurant which has a very casual and relaxing ambiance. This restaurant welcomes everyone including couples, singles, groups, and families with children.
The restaurant is very clean, comfortable, and has a very simple décor. The staff is very friendly, attentive, competent and experienced. They are also fun! Chef Sebastian Pinzone is a remarkable young chef who always strives to make his guests happy with his delectable creative dishes.
Café Baci has a wonderful selection of wine to choose from. You have a choice of appetizers like antipasto, carpaccio, calamari, brushetta and more. Soup and salads are offered as well as various pizzas. Café Baci’s salads are always fresh, tasty and crisp.
This Aruba restaurant is known for its Spaghetti al a Formaggio prepared tableside inside a wheel of parmesan cheese which is incredibly delicious! My favorite dish is Shrimp Scampi a la Baci with its scrumptious subtle flavors. I also enjoy the lasagna with the bolognaise sauce. My husband enjoys almost the entire menu selection especially the veal marsala and veal parmigiana.
There are a number of delicious entrees for you to select for dinner. Fettucine alfredo, chicken carbonara, fisherman’s favorite with mussels, shrimp, clams, filet mignon with creamy garlic shrimp, and red snapper are just a few of the wonderful meals that Chef Sebastian will prepare for you.
After experiencing an incredible meal you will have to decide on dessert. Will it be tiramisu, cappuccino cake, caramel fondue, white chocolate cake, ice cream, or sorbet? Will you choose expresso with sambucca, cappuccino, or regular coffee with cream? These are the tough decisions you will be making!
Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention that on Mondays Café Baci has an “All You Can Eat Pasta and Pizza” special. The restaurant also has an “Early Bird Three Course Menu” special between the hours of 5:30pm – 6:30pm.
To sum up: The relaxing atmosphere, the friendly service, and the delicious food are all reasons that you will enjoy dining at Café Baci.

We have never experienced flying insects such as flies or mosquitoes at any of the outdoor restaurants that we mentioned above. But during certain months like September through February, it’s possible for them to be present due to the decrease in tradewinds and the increase in humidity during those months.
